About me

My take on teaching

Learning is boring!

Yes! Most of the time it is – unfortunately. And as a teacher, that opinion – even though it is fitting more often than not – is something I always struggled with. Because learning is supposed to be fun, elevating, motivating. Why? Because each moment you spend learning something new, you grow. In your abilities, in your understanding, in your wisdom. You become a better person, you open new doors, call it whatever. The fact remains that learning new things is an achievement you can be proud of.

Why then is it often frustrating, annoying, boring and why do we often give up? Because we need something else. A new approach, different techniques, a teacher that meets our needs, a concept that fits our lifestyle. This is hard to find.

I found my calling in being a teacher. I also believe that I found a system that makes learning for you easier, fun and compatible with your lifestyle and needs.

Tell me, and I will forget.
Show me, and I will remember.
Involve me, and I will understand.”

I did it my way

I can tell you a thing or two about being bored. Most of my time in school and at university I spent daydreaming or half asleep because I wasn’t able to stay focused. The main reason for that would be a faulty system on one hand and teachers who weren’t passionate about their job on the other hand.

We can’t change a whole system and we can’t change our teachers. BUT as adults in this modern and technically equipped world, we can decide with and from whom we want to learn. And we can find out which way of learning is the best for us and we can stick with it.

The possibilities are nearly endless.

What I was mainly missing whenever I “had” to learn something was to be able to actually USE the things I learned. This is as already mentioned to some extent the system’s fault. The educational system is old. Way back when there weren’t computers, the internet, artificial intelligence … having theoretical knowledge was important. But now we have all those things that SHOULD HAVE changed the whole system along the way. Although this particular change was overlooked, time shifted the purpose of knowledge. All the knowledge in your head is great to have but is worth nothing if you don’t or can’t use it.

So my way is and will always be to show you how easy and rewarding learning can be through applied knowledge and to guide and empower you every step of the way.

I make and take the time to show you how you can put all the theory into practice. Step by step, each and every day.

And this makes learning fun. Interesting. Worthwhile.
